School author visits that do more than just entertain.

From high-energy poetry performances to mythology storytelling and transformative writing workshops, I help children discover language, imagination and confidence as real writers.

Memorable Author Visits to Build Better Writers

Combining fifteen years of classroom experience with a published body of poetry, mythology and non-fiction, I deliver school visits that are funny, intellectually ambitious and carefully structured to get every child reading, thinking and writing.

I don’t do passive author talks. Mine are immersive literacy events in which children perform, question, invent, discuss and write.

Myth, History and Storytelling Focus

Immersive workshops exploring Greek myth, Viking culture and the strange stories that have shaped human history

  • Greek Mythology (Y4-6)

  • The Truth about Vikings (Y4-6)

Poetry Performance and Language Play

Highly interactive sessions designed to make poetry vivid, memorable and playful.

  • Nonsense Poetry (Y2-Y4)

  • Performance Poetry (Y3-6)

Writing Workshops for Developing Writers

Craft-focused sessions helping children to generate ideas, sharpen their voice and write with greater confidence and authenticity.

  • Poetry: To Rhyme or Not To Rhyme (Y5-6)

  • Poetry: Put Your Life On The Page (Y3-6)

  • Knowing Yourself As A Writer (Y5-Y8)

  • I overheard a group of Year 4 boys putting together their own poem using the techniques you had taught them, which was such a lovely moment and a real testament to how inspiring your sessions were. The only negative is that we didn't have more time with you!

  • Not only have you inspired amazing writing in our children, you have also shown such warmth, empathy and compassion to our children; never judging and always being an encouraging, championing voice

    — Year 5 Teacher, Primary School in Newham

  • The children were absolutely in awe of you and your workshops. The engagement across the school was fantastic to see. Some of our more reluctant boys were completely drawn in and actively participating, which was wonderful. A few of our SEN pupils even said that they had made a friend during the sessions, which was really special to hear.
