'Stories of the Seas' is a short chapter book, a collection of four myths and folktales inspired by the oceans.
It features retellings of the stories of Odysseus and the Sirens (Greece), Hadad Battles Lotan (Syria), Urashima Taro (Japan) and the Song of the Sea Mother (Nigeria).
The book is a creative blend of fiction and non-fiction: the stories are framed within a discussion of why myths matter, and how the future health of our oceans depends upon us creating new myths.
The book was illustrated brilliantly by Martin Bustamante.
